The City and other organizations could encourage more community members to take local "green" actions by inviting community members to develop brief videos of themselves taking these actions (explaining how and why in their own words), and posting this library on the web. Oakland is full of creative and dedicated people who can inspire each other. Examples of green actions might include: fix a flat bike tire, lower your water heater thermostat, install weatherstripping, hire a contractor to perform a home energy upgrade, use a clothesline, drive less by combining trips or walking more, collect and recycle food scraps, install a rain barrel, etc. How do we make it fun, interesting and accessible for Oaklanders to share and learn from each other.
